The Pro-PT Staff

Mary Beth Jenkins, PT

Mary Beth has been a physical therapist for 26 years. She graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 1994 and spent the first few years of her career traveling the United States providing relief staff for therapy clinics in need. In 1998 she settled In Randolph County, and has provided therapy services in a variety of settings throughout the area, including outpatient orthopedics, skilled nursing and home care.

Mary Beth spent 3 years as an orthopedic service line manager where she worked directly with orthopedic surgeons on protocols that involved every piece of the orthopedic experience. This included the operating room, physician offices, rehabilitation and the emergency department. After spending time in many clinics Mary Beth decided that the people of Randolph County deserved a different type of therapy experience.

“I’ve been a patient several times in my life. I know how important it is to be comfortable with your therapist and with your therapy environment. I wanted to be able to show patients that therapy can be enjoyable and fun. I am dedicated to providing an atmosphere that allows every patient to leave our clinic feeling better than they did when they walked in”.

In her spare time Mary Beth enjoys spending time with her friends and family in both Ohio and North Carolina. She enjoys traveling, reading and hanging with her two furry children, River and Ryder.

She joined Pro-PT in Asheboro in 2019. She really enjoys the positive atmosphere and patient first philosophy. In 2020, Jen and Mary Beth teamed up to open a Pro-PT location in Lexington, NC to bring that same small clinic, patient first philosophy to Lexington community.

Jen enjoys traveling, volunteering and spending time with her friends, family and her husband, Joe, and their 6 rescued fur babies. You may even meet the newest family member, Bodhi, on one of your visits to the clinic.

Ashley Flournoy

Ashley has been a physical therapist assistant for 13 years. She graduated from the PTA program at Guilford Technical Community College in Jamestown, NC in 2006. She has provided therapy services in multiple settings, including inpatient acute care, outpatient orthopedics, home health and independent living facilities.  Ashley joined Pro-PT in 2015 and loves treating in the outpatient setting, which is her favorite because of the wide range of diagnosis and ages she gets to treat.

“I always knew that I wanted to have a job where I could help people, and that is definitely true in the physical therapy profession! However, it runs much deeper than that, our clinic is so small and intimate, that we are able to form relationships with our patients.

I feel as though I have an extended family through my fellow teammates, but also through every patient that walks in the door. I hope that my patients are able to learn as much from me as I do from them.”

In her spare time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Eric, and together they have two children, Jaycie and Davis. She loves her church, dancing, music, crafting and spending time at the beach!

Ashley Robinson

Ashley began her journey as a Physical Therapist Assistant in January of 2017. She graduated from the PTA program at South University of High Point in December of 2016. She has volunteered on several occasions at a skilled nursing facility as well as job shadowing at an outpatient orthopedic clinic. She has now achieved her dream job of helping others every day through the use of Physical Therapy at Pro-PT!

“I have always had a passion for taking care of a helping people. My dream was to have a job doing that very thing in hopes of making a difference in someone’s life. Now that I have that job and I have found that people are making a difference in ME. I have attended therapy sessions with family and have been a patient myself so I understand the importance of being comfortable and making therapy fun!”

In her spare time she enjoys: hiking, camping, fishing, beekeeping with her husband Daniel and playing with her beloved Doberman Dozer!

Joy Palmer

Joy has worked in healthcare for more than 39 years. She graduated from Randolph Community College with an Assoc. degree in Business Administration in 1983 and from Edgecombe Community College in 2012 with an Assoc. degree in Health Information Technology. Joy is a native of Randolph County and resides in her family home place with her husband and fur babies. Joy is a retired volunteer firefighter with the Coleridge-Erect Vol. Fire Department where she served more than 20 years as a firefighter and EMT.

As an orthopedic patient with injuries derived from playing softball, Joy understands the pain and the necessity of rehab to regain full strength and use. Joy has always enjoyed the business and finance portion of working in health care. She dedicated many years to helping others and serving her community. Pro-PT gives me the opportunity to do both of these things; plus, I get to work with the wonderful fur babies! It is a blessing to work with this awesome group of people.

Pro-Pt is a truly unique place to work. Our therapists know how to push patients to get the most benefits from their therapy while having fun doing it. It my pleasure to go to work and help this team and our patients in any way I can.

In her spare time Joy enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends and her fur babies. She enjoys day trips, reading, cooking and enjoying life.

Upon your arrival at Pro-PT, you will be greated by either River, Ryder or Clyde depending on the day (they job share so they are never all working at the same time). Depending on your therapy, if you desire, they can "support" you during your therapy.

River is our 5 year old miniature Goldendoodle. She weighs in at a whopping 25 pounds and she is completely hypoallergenic, which allows her to receive love from every patient that arrives in the clinic. Her main job is “greeter,” however, she has been known to get a little lazy and expect everyone who walks in the door to come and greet her with a belly rub. River has been trained to watch all patients to make sure they don’t cheat on their exercises, but we find that sometimes she gets a little lazy with this too!

Ryder was born on December 13, 2015 and he was adopted by Mary Beth and her fiancé Trip on February 7, 2016.  He is a Micro-Goldendoodle and is completely hypoallergenic. Ryder started part-time employment in July 2016 and he has been eager to follow in his sister's foot-steps greeting every patient that walks in the door with happiness!!  Ryder loves his job at Pro-PT and he is known to raise the energy level of the clinic with his fun-loving personality.

Clyde was born on March 9, 2019 and was adopted by the Flournoy family on May 4, 2019. He is a petite “double-doodle” and weighs a whopping 15 pounds. He has spent almost every morning since at work at Pro-PT and has gained the heart of every person who meets him with his sweet kisses and playful personality. He has caught on well to his job as “greeter” at the clinic, and absolutely loves his best friend, Ryder!
